Sanfeng Covanta Speed Hits a New Record Huidong WTE Project Power on Grid

Recently, Huidong Waste-to-Energy Power Plant undertaken by Sanfeng Covanta has successfully been on grid for power generation. Counting on the first concrete pouring in March 2021 to the successful grid-connected power generation, it takes one year for Sanfeng Covanta to hit a new record regarding the Waste-to-Energy project construction speed, fully demonstrating the spirit of Sanfeng Covanta staff "tenacity, persistence, professionalism and concentration".

Power on Grid Moment

The Huidong Waste-to-Energy Power Plant Project invested by Chongqing Sanfeng Environment Group Co., Ltd covers an area of around 102 acres, located in the beautiful Sichuan Yunnan Pearl Huidong County Jinsha River, which is named as three administrative level environmental protection and people's livelihood key project in Huidong County, Liangshan Prefecture, and Sichuan Province. The project has a treatment capacity of 600t/d, equipped with a 600 t/d German Martin SITY 2000 grate and a set of 15 MW steam turbine generator set, applying a medium temperature and sub high pressure parameter boiler, controlling the emission standard better than the current EU standard. When the project reaches the due production target, it will be expected to treat around 219,000 tons of Municiple Solid Waste (MSW) annually, generating about 100 million kWh of electricity, and reducing carbon dioxide emissions by about 60,000 tons, which could be able to effectively help the construction of ecological civilization and rural revitalization in the three cities (counties) namely Huili, Huidong and Ningnan, and to promote the sustainable development of green economy, and to accelerate the reducing, recycling and harmless disposal of MSW, and to improve the living standard of the three places.
